The Art Department at Madonna University has a personal, supportive approach to strengthen the development of our students. Through advising, course work, and mentoring, we closely monitor the growth of our students, as well as nurture their ability.
Department history/mission:
For 50 years, the art department at Madonna has been preparing and inspiring students in fine arts to develop their understanding and skills in the creative visual field. The Graphic Design major has likewise been active for the past 23 years preparing students for this challenging area.
Unique Features
Students are offered instruction in both Western and Asian art, which combines studio art, Graphic Design, and art history with professional specialists in each area. There is also the opportunity to explore and pursue further study in individual art fields through independent study.
A comprehensive portfolio/exhibit representative in the student’s growth in a particular medium is required of ALL ART MAJORS (Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Arts Education).
Career Options
Some of the career fields art students may enter include; teaching, art direction, graphic design, illustration, painting, sculpting, photography, art restoration, museum and art gallery work.
