Undergraduate
BA Degree with Studio or Art History Focus
The Department of Art and Art History offers two separate but interrelated BA programs. The BA with art history focus affords the opportunity to study the arts of Asia, Pacific and the West in a historical and cultural context. The BA with studio focus provides students with a broad-based, liberal arts approach to a wide range of visual arts media including: animation, ceramics, fiber, glass, graphic design, photography, painting, printmaking, sculpture and electronic arts.
The BFA degree in art is designed for those students who desire a focused preparation in the visual arts or who intend to pursue an advanced degree or careers in art and design. Areas of specialization include animation, ceramics, fiber, glass, graphic design, photography, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Students are encouraged to cross media boundaries, and qualified students may opt to construct an individualized plan of study with faculty guidance and approval.
